Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina asserted that her party is committed to ensure trial of war criminals even as she maintained that no conspiracy by opposition parties could foil this bid.
She said this while addressing a mass gathering in Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh on Wednesday (March 7).
Bangladesh, formerly East Pakistan, won independence in December 1971 following a nine-month war.
A defiant Hasina said that those who have committed genocide and killed innocent Bangladeshis would not be forgiven at any cost.

dont know whether this will be of any interest– the bangladesh foreign minister has written to me to be in dhaka from 24 to 27 march to be honoured by the president/prime minister along with some others who had contributed to the liberation of bangladesh.
i am told they are awarding me a high decoration.

The prosecution counsel yesterday apparently failed to satisfy the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in specifying the category of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Quader Mollah, detained on charges of crimes against humanity, under section 3 (1) of the amended International Crimes (tribunals) Act 1973.

The war crimes tribunal on Thursday adjourned to Mar 13 further hearing in a case against Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary general Abdul Quader Molla.
The International Crimes Tribunal, set up to deal with crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, was expected to hear further arguments of the prosecution following formal charges against the Jamaat leader.
