একাত্তরের গণহত্যা, মানবতার বিরুদ্ধে অপরাধ ও যুদ্ধাপরাধের বিচারের জন্য গঠিত ‘আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল’-এ বিচারাধীন আসামিদের বিরুদ্ধে সরকারপক্ষে আইনজীবীদের অদক্ষতা ও অনবধানতা সম্পর্কে বিচারপতিরা ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেছেন এবং গণমাধ্যমেও সমালোচনার ঝড় বয়ে যাচ্ছে। অভিযুক্ত জামায়াতের নেতা দেলাওয়ার হোসাইন সাঈদী, কাদের মোল্লা ও মতিউর রহমান নিজামীর বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ উত্থাপনকালে ট্রাইব্যুনালের বিচারপতিরা তদন্ত সংস্থা ও সরকারপক্ষের আইনজীবীদের গাফিলতি ও দায়িত্বহীনতা সম্পর্কে কঠোর মন্তব্য করেছেন।

Says law minister
The government is going to form the second International Crimes Tribunal within this month for quick disposal of war-crimes related cases, Law Minister Shafique Ahmed told The Daily Star yesterday.
The investigation agency and prosecution team, who are dealing with cases at the existing tribunal, would also deal with cases at the new tribunal, he said.

15 charges have been proposed by the prosecutors against Motiur Rahman Nizami. Tribunal wondered why the killing of intelectual was not included in the charge but prosecutors ensured it is included in greater context.

All the six petitions have been rejected by the tribunal made by Salauddin Qader Chowdhury as the tribunal thinks it si meant to delay the procedure. One of the tribunal member Judge AKM Zaheer Ahmed differed the opinion said the order on the petition for discharging Salauddin, should have been passed in the presence of the accused.
