Dhaka, Jun 3 (bdnews24.com) – The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Monday indicted Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mohammad Qamaruzzaman on seven counts of crimes against humanity allegedly committed during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War and ordered to begin trial.
The court set July 2 as the date for deposition after framing charges against him.
Prosecutor Saiful Islam placed charges on 17 counts of crimes against humanity against Qamaruzzaman, also assistant secretary general of the Islamist party, key ally of the main opposition BNP.
