Hearing on Saydee’s case halted till 13th of February and the tribunal showed it’s concern as only one testimony was presented before court despite 4 days had been allocated

Witness Madhusudan Gharami gave his testimony from a hospital bed about how Delwar Hossain Saydee forced him to convert to islam and later raped his wife. As a result his wife and new born daughter were sent to India. Saydee’s case is the first one to face trial.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina stated in parliament public money is being smuggled abroad to save war criminal and it will not be tolerated. She also said it is a matter of shame the main opposition is supporting the war criminal

The proceding of tribunal was delayed and troubled as the prosecutor team did not handle the evidnce professionally. Saydee’s case will be the first one to go on to trial stage.

The witnesses were being told that they might face trouble if the government changed, he said. “It should be understood that this is a reason why the prosecution is not being able to produce a number of witnesses [in court]”.
