(14 December 2011) The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) is to issue an order on taking into cognisance the war crimes charges against him and his arrest on 26 December as the prosecution on Monday accused him as “key collaborator” of the then Pakistani junta in 1971.
“The orders (on Ghulam Azam’s matter) will be delivered on 26 December,” ICT’s registrar Mezbahuddin Ahmed told newsmen a day after the prosecution sought his arrest order after submitting 52 charges of “crimes against humanity.”

Sector Commanders Forum Tuesday demanded immediate arrest of all war criminals including former Jamaat Ameer Golam Azam and their trials for committing crimes against humanity during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
The forum also condemned main opposition BNP for trying to foil the trial of war criminals.

Dhaka, Dec 12 (bdnews24.com)—The prosecution has moved the war crimes tribunal to issue arrest warrant for Jamaat-e-Islami’s guru and former chief Ghulam Azam for his role in the 1971 Liberation War against Pakistan.
The appeal was made on Monday after chief prosecutor Ghulam Arieff Tipoo submitted a 52-point charter of charges to the three-judge tribunal headed by Justice Nizamul Huq on Monday.
The tribunal accepted the charges and forwarded the submission to the court’s registrar.

Police yesterday arrested former Jamaat-e-Islami lawmaker Shahjahan Chowdhury on charges of September 19 vandalism and assaulting police personnel in Chittagong.

জামায়াতপন্থী ‘দৈনিক সংগ্রাম’ পত্রিকার সম্পাদক ও মওদুদীবিষয়ক একাডেমির পরিচালককে আজ মঙ্গলবার ভোরে রাজধানী থেকে আটক করা হয়েছে। তবে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর কোনো সংস্থা তাঁদের আটক করেছে, এ ব্যাপারে বিস্তারিত জানা যায়নি।
