The ICT tribunal Tuesday rejected all pleas of BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury MP detained in the case filed for his alleged involvement with the crimes against humanity.
The tribunal also fixed March 20 for indictment hearing against the BNP leader him as exempt plea of him rejected.
The three-member tribunal headed by its Chairman Justice Nizamul Haq passed the orders.
Two lawyers Fakhrul Islam and Ahsanul Haque stood for SQ Chy during the final hearing of six pleas.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has once again said BNP was trying to hinder the war crimes trial and added that her government would try the crimes against humanity perpetrated in the 1971.

Accused Salauddin Quader Chowdhury MP cannot be charged with the crimes against humanity during the liberation war as the formal charge submitted by the prosecution appeared faulty, argued the defence counsel before the International Crimes Tribunal Sunday, reports UNB.

Dhaka, Feb 23 (bdnews24.com) — BNP MP Salauddin Quader Chowdhury’s defence will continue to argue on his behalf seeking bail when the court resumes on Monday.

Sheikh Hasina: “Trial of the war criminals is our election pledge. It must be accomplished

DHAKA, Jan 28 (BSS) – Awami League Presidium Member Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun today blasted the opposition for creating an anarchic situation in the country to thwart the ongoing trial of war criminals and urged all pro-liberation forces to remain united for expediting the trail process.

DHAKA: The International Crimes Tribunal will issue an order on February 13 regarding indictment of detained BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury MP in the case of wartime ‘crime against humanity’.
The tribunal fixed the date after arguments of both sides on whether the charges brought against the BNP leader to be taken into cognizance.
On January 15, prosecutors concluded the indictment hearing against SQ Chowdhury.

DHAKA: Opposition BNP Saturday alleged that conspiracy is going on against the country’s independence and sovereignty to weaken the national security.
Acting secretary-general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the allegation at a press conference held at chairperson’s Gulshan office in the city.
The spokesperson for the former ruling party claimed that the conspiracy “is an ill-effort to damage the country’s independence and sovereignty”.
