The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 Wednesday adjourned the hearing in the trial of Matiur Rahman Nizami, charged with committing crimes against humanity during the liberation war, until February 3, reports BSS.
The three-member panel of ICT-1, headed by Justice ATM Fazle Kabir fixed the date accepting a plea of the prosecution.

A verdict on Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Abdul Quader Molla is due anytime now after both his defence and prosecution completed their arguments in the war crimes tribunal on Thursday.

The second war crimes tribunal chief Justice Obaidul Hassan, after hearing arguments by the both parties, said the verdict would be given any day the court finds convenient.
This is the third case that awaits a verdict at the International Crime Tribunal-2, formed to try crimes against humanity committed during the War of Independence in 1971.

(New York, January 17, 2013) – The Bangladeshi authorities should immediately explain what actions they have taken to locate Shukho Ranjan Bali, a witness who defense lawyers and witnesses say was abducted from the gates of the war crimes courthouse in Dhaka on November 5, 2012, Human Rights Watch said today. Petitions for retrial of war crimes cases against Jamaat-e-Islami leaders Ghulam Azam, Motiur Rahman Nizami, Delawar Hossain Sayedee and Muhammad Kamruzzaman were rejected on Thursday.
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 rejected three petitions of Ghulam Azam, Nizami and Sayedee while the ICT-2 rejected the petition of Kamruzzaman.
