The medical board, formed to check the physical condition of arrested former Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Ghulam Azam, is of the opinion that he is stable and does not need to be in hospital.

DHAKA - Bangladesh on Wednesday arrested a religious leader on charges of war crimes during the country’s 1971 liberation struggle against Pakistan, lawyers said.
Ghulam Azam, 89, a former head of opposition Jamaat-e-Islami party, has been accused of creating and leading pro-Pakistan militias which carried out many murders and rapes during the nine-month war.

Dhaka, Jan 11 (bdnews24.com) – The International Crimes Tribunal’s order to send Jamaat-e-Islami linchpin Ghulam Azam to jail for alleged involvement in war crimes during the 1971 Liberation War is not proper, defence counsel Abdur Razzaq has said.
