International Crimes Strategy Forum (ICSF) has connected with activists around the world via video conference in this seminar on Sunday the 26th of May 2013 to discuss ‘Political Islam in Secular Bangladesh’. First in this series on ‘political Islam’, the seminar’s featured speaker was Hasan Mahmud (Advisory Board Member, World Muslim Congress) who was joined by secular and democratic activists from designated venues in other cities of the world spread out in four continents. The seminar focussed on the rise of political Islam in Bangladesh initiating discussion on Moududism, Salafism, Sharia and other theological tools that motivate the various Islamist groups in Bangladesh and abroad. We are hoping that this would generate sufficient interests among activists and groups around the world so that the conversation can continue.
